A Nation of Children.

Once was our Nation, so great and bold.
Had great wisdom like people so old.
Struggled with the right and wrong of the day.
Yet, all people could work together and play.
Grown men and women made so strong.
Loved our country. We wanted to belong.
Wanted great things for the next generation.
Give them the best things, and a great education.
Many sacrificed their lives for freedom and rights.
They loved God and taught much of his insights.
The children were given all things to make them win.
But generation after generation, complacency set in.
Things made easier. Given devices of the day.
Hard work is lessened, then given more play.
Machines make it easy to figure a great thing.
But to the character, what does it bring?
Hardships of life proceed with subtle vigor.
To make a better spirit, this is the trigger.
Instead, the state steps in with free assistance.
Many accept this handout with little resistance.
We need to understand that everything has a cost.
Let government support us, and freedom is soon lost.
Schools teach less history and math.
Teach of identity and America’s wrath.
The kids grow up. Taught great lessons of fear.
Taught the instruction, “This you will hear”.
One more generation, more complacency sets in.
Everyone gets a trophy. Even if you didn’t win.
Many things are gained with little effort at all.
When tough times come, many can’t heed the call.
Most aren’t learning. Just want to be entertained.
Wisdom is not generated; self-gratification is sustained.
Things are given to our society only as a pacifier.
Only helping selfishness. Putting us in a quagmire.
The generation in colleges are the next people in line.
Many are learning to demand. If denied, then wine.
Whatever happened to that famous useful tool?
Learned when young. To practice the Golden Rule.
As civilization goes on, we’re supposed to get wiser.
But it seems like many are becoming a selfish miser.
Over the decades the people have been trained.
Many of them had the state support sustained.
When enabled with ease, a weak character will ensue.
The question is, has immaturity infected you?
This nation is a sandbox, but can we get along?
Only if we are taught the right from the wrong.
Against the evil, how many will go to battle?
Many will stay home and play with their rattle.
A nation of responsibility is slowly fading away.
Bad things are happening, while a majority play.
Our nation was founded on the truth from above.
From wisdom, strength, and the gift of love.
What can save us? Is it our leaders of today?
No! The truth of God. To find it, maybe pray.
