Today’s lessons in hand. Walking up the steps.

Into the classroom, she strides. Today’s info she preps.

Loves to teach the children. Empowers them with tools.

Gives them knowledge that results in mental jewels.

Decorates the classroom, like it’s a delightful parade.

Her wish is to help improve morale of the third grade.

The children swiftly flow in as if through a funnel.

The teacher welcomes them into the mental tunnel.

To give their minds, tools of knowledge, and insight.

With passion and love, this gives her much delight.

Teach them history. To make no errors in future days.

Then math. Now fractions, to use them in many ways.

Next is writing and reading. Teaching for an hour.

This teaching will give them needed career power.

Now it is recess. A chance to clean up the room.

And now the kids return. She quickly stores the broom.

To learn now of geometry. Shapes of objects and things.

After that science. And the valued knowledge it brings.

As she turns to the class, a spit-wad flies.

Caught in the act. Sternly stares into his eyes.

Her stare in eyes displayed to him, who runs the show.

Told him” Next time, anyone, to the principal they will go!”

A half-hour of games, to strengthen their minds.

To get along and teach them, how to be kind.

With the day's lessons done. Time to go home.

But before she does, her many thoughts roam.

Organizing her lessons to make tomorrow better.

She noticed at lunch, on her desk was placed a letter.

It asked if after classes, the principal she could see.

Was teacher of the year. Why her? What could it be?

Told to sit down. There’s a plan. A new mandate.

In classes now, certain things we must advocate.

We must teach of gender and its fluidity.

Of all the different kinds, and its validity.

Show the importance of which sex they may feel.

You must accommodate them if they have an appeal.

Don’t tell the parents. They don’t need to know.

This is our game. From now on, we run the show.

Left her office. Stunned and amazed.

Hard to believe. On it, her mind grazed.

The next day in class, her teaching didn’t change.

This may be their show. But this is her range.

Next week, the principal noticed, things she didn’t assure.

She is the one with truth, and God. Willing to endure.

The school board soon contacted her. Gave her flack.

Unafraid, she persistently, aggressively pushed back.

They quickly fired her. The union didn’t protect.

She had her dignity. Beliefs, and her self-respect.

Conferred with the parents of the kids she taught.

They were in disbelief. No clue of such a thought.

Got a job in a school, that taught things of Christ.

Glad she escaped. The deception. The heist.

She told the parents of her old public school class.

In her classroom, many of those children did pass.

She teaches compassion, love, and wisdom so true.

Sacrificed herself for faith and her beliefs. Could you?
