The Fisherman

Knots are woven. Made so tight.
A net is created. Inspected to be right.
He loves to do this. His passion of kind.
Brings peace to his spirit. Expands all minds.
Makes the boat ready, and organizes his stuff.
Looks over the water. The surface looks rough.
Enters into the medium to which he will sail.
Hopefully, good results will soon prevail.
Looking for a location, he sits on his perch.
The ambient environment he so does search.
Sees the quarry. Moves to that location.
Soon to exercise his practiced vocation.
They see him coming. They move away fast.
The speed of his boat just doesn’t last.
Eludes him now. For he will see them later.
When he does. The reward will be greater.
To catch a few fish. Maybe only one at a time.
This makes the masses. The numbers climb.
He waits patiently. Knowing they will come.
Will there be many? Definitely will be some.
I have deceived you, as this poem you read.
As I must tell the truth. It must be freed!
I’m sorry, with your mind I have committed a heist.
And so, this fisherman’s name is Jesus Christ.
The knots in his net are his thoughts of mind.
Formulated gentile and accurate of its kind.
His boat is really his feet placed on this earth.
Came here as you and I. A flesh and blood birth.
The water he sails is the world he walks through.
Trying to show all mankind the way to be true.
The net he casts, are words so spoken in the air.
Tells of our Father who loves us all with great care.
His words will catch many, but sadly not all.
The ones that get away unfortunately may fall.
Explains, “You must be truthful to live the best life.”
To suffer for love grows you, to help others in strife.
When given hate, please do not hate back.
For if you do, it will cause perpetual flack.
Please help all those persons in serious need.
Treat people well, and you will plant my seed.
To the unattractive, treat them well. To me they are beauty.
Do this of love and compassion. Not only because of duty.
He must leave now. From the ocean of the flesh.
Treat all as brethren, and your lives will mesh.
He leaves behind a legacy of spirit and words said.
Just like his net. Cast it, and let the love spread!
Kasey Dann.
